Prom 2007 might be a year away, but that just gives you more time to plan for one of the most exciting, memorable nights of your life.
However, if you’re a little dissatisfied with your appearance, you may want to start a comprehensive health regimen now. That way, when Prom 2007 rolls around, you’ll be ready to step onto the dance floor with style, poise, and self-assurance.
1. Get Physical
You have about twelve months before Prom 2007, which translates into 52 weeks to shape up your body. However, you first have to make a commitment to yourself before undertaking a new fitness routine. Write yourself a letter stating that you’re willing to get in shape so you can feel better about your body. Tell yourself that you deserve to be fit. Then, sign the letter and put it away. Look at it on those days when you just feel emotionally depleted and you need a spirit booster.
Next, put together a fitness plan you can live with. It doesn’t have to be a drastic weight lifting and 15-mile running routine; just taking a brisk walk in the morning before school and another at night after dinner will make a huge impact that you’ll feel immediately. Or take lessons for a sport you’ve always wanted to try.
Use the summer as a chance to explore many different fitness avenues, especially outdoor activities like swimming and hiking. By the time winter rolls around, your desire to exercise will be so ingrained that keeping up with it will be a snap.
2. Eat Right
You don’t have to starve yourself or stop eating goodies in order to fit into your Prom 2007 attire. However, you need to prioritize the types of foods you eat, choosing fruits, veggies, and whole grains and saving the sugary snacks for special occasions. And if you fall off the wagon when tempted by a slice of chocolate cream pie, don’t beat yourself up. Just dust off your trousers and pick up where you left off.
By treating your body well and using the next year wisely, Prom 2007 will truly be a night to remember.
